My name is Veronica. Laura Glassburn was my cousin (a first cousin, in fact.) I had to write an obituary for my english class based on a character from Macbeth and since Laura is the only person that has died that was close to me, I thought I'd look at her obituary for ideas about how to write one.

That's when I found this post. It's ridiculous that I'm sitting in my high school library, holding back the tears at 8 in the morning. I'm so glad that someone like you wrote this to remember her.

I live in Pennsylvania so as we got older, I didn't get to stay as close to her as I did when I would spend summers with her and her family in WV, but I knew her enough in her later years to know that she was a wonderful person and the world is hurting so much without her.

Thanks so much for writing something so beautiful and for enjoying her as much as you did.

Hi,

Did you ever find the cemetary? I had a great grandmother that was a patient there in the very early 1900's. She was admitted by her husband so he could go back home and move his other woman in. My grandfather always wondered what had happened to her. My family has tried to find out as much information as possible but still don't know where her grave it and if she died at Spencer. If you ever find out any other information I would love to know about it. Yes, I do believe in past lives, paranormal, etc. and did live with 3 ghosts in my (their) home for over 25 yrs. I live in NC and would love to go out in the woods and see the things you have seen. Take care and thanks so much for your interest in history!!!!

Allclick -- It's kind of a common thread, isn't it? Actually "George" isn't this guy's name, but his real name is like that.

Juanuchis -- No way!!! Hahahahaa! And yeah, Thai food is awesome. I had some spicy chicken satay, some shrimp pad thai and pineapple jasmine rice that I split with my Mom. It was sooooooo good! The closest place to here to get Thai is in Dunbar. Bummer!

Oh, I'm marking this post for further commentary. I have to find a picture to post, something Dad did. I thought I had a photo on my computer, but I guess not.

I'll be back.

Why is it that all bus drivers are called "George"? or "Alan"? or "Dave"?

Yeah, that's just wrong. I really wanted to go somewhere nice at least once during the trip. The best food I had was at a Thai place at the Pentagon Mall. That was really good, though.

You have to eat somewhere nice when you travel.

It is the cathedral where personal freedom is officially worshipped.

Beautifully put! I'm totally going to steal that line when I talk about the LM in my classrooms.

Reading those speeches on enormous walls gave me chills. God, I need a time machine! I really think I should have double majored in art and history.
