Worth1000.com Photoshop Contest — Art Advertising

November 29, 2006

I love Worth1000.com, especially when the photoshop contests involve fine art. This contest has some awesome entries, especially the really believeable “McDavid” and cool Michelangelo Nokia ad. Perhaps the most creative entry is the M.C. Escher Adidas ad.

Schrödinger’s cat lives!

November 28, 2006

This is actually my Aunt Bonnie’s cat, and his name is Ollie. Thankfully, he has not been part of any experiments, except maybe to see how many children a family can bring into the house before he runs and hides safely under the bed. (The answer is one, if you’re curious.) I took this photo when the smell of turkey and gravy lured him away from his hiding place to the cover of a giant Elephant Ear plant growing in a pot on her sun porch. Ollie waited patiently in the foliage because he knew I wouldn’t leave without bringing him a little snack.

Sometimes, you just feel like Schrödinger’s Cat.

No, for real — it’s a video game! You can download it, here! Sweet!!!

Turn up your sound; the soundtrack is music by legendary jazz pianist Pete Johnson.

I found this through Mental Floss.

Stolen Goya Painting Found

November 21, 2006

This painting was stolen from a truck as it was parked overnight during transport of this painting to an exhibit. You’d think it would be a little more difficult to steal a painting worth $1.1 million!!! However, it has been found, and hopefully will be put in its rightful place at the Guggenheim, in the exhibit it was supposed to be part of, which opened Friday.

Notice the cool “Shakespeare Is My Homeboy” design, inspired by the CCHS Humanities wing. I work with the coolest people, ever. :)
